Stainless Steel NPSM Female Pipe Swivel Fittings
The Hose-Saver Swivel, Built to Survive the Nasty Stuff.
For When the Hose Has to Swivel and the Fitting Can't Rust.
The standard steel NPSM swivel is a smart fitting that stops you from twisting up a hose during install. This is the version you use when that hose is on a boat, in a chemical plant, or on a machine that gets a caustic washdown every night. We take the same problem-solving swivel design and machine it from solid 316 stainless steel for total corrosion resistance.
Like the steel version, the straight NPSM threads are just for clamping muscle—the seal happens on the male tapered thread it connects to. The real upgrade here is the material. For any distributor or OEM supplying parts for marine, chemical, food & beverage, or pharmaceutical industries, this is a critical part to have in your catalog. It's the right tool for a tough job.

The Shop Floor Truth on Stainless Swivels
This is a specialty part for a special set of problems. It costs more than a steel one for a good reason. Here's what you need to know before you spec it.
Why You Pay More for a Stainless Swivel
You choose this fitting when the environment is going to attack and destroy a standard zinc-plated part. That means:
- Marine & Offshore: Any hose connection exposed to saltwater or salt spray needs 316 stainless. There's no way around it.
- Chemical Plants & Processing: For lines that see aggressive fluids that would strip a plated fitting.
- Food & Beverage Equipment: Stands up to the daily caustic washdowns without pitting or rusting, which is critical for sanitation.
- Anywhere Else Rust is a Dealbreaker: For any high-humidity or outdoor application where you need a hose connection to last.
How it Works: It's All About the Swivel and the Seal
This part solves two problems at once, but it's important to know how it works:
- The Swivel Prevents Hose Damage: The nut spins freely, so you can tighten the connection without putting any damaging twist on the hose assembly. This is its primary mechanical job.
- The Material Prevents Corrosion: The 316 stainless steel body and nut won't rust or degrade when exposed to harsh conditions. This is its primary material job.
- The Seal Still Happens on the Male End: Remember, the NPSM threads are straight—they don't seal. The connection becomes leak-proof when it's tightened onto a male NPT or NPTF fitting, and the seal is formed on those tapered threads.
Installation: The Galling Rule
The rules are the same as for a steel swivel: use two wrenches, don't over-tighten, get your alignment right. But with stainless, there's one extra, non-negotiable rule: You must use a good anti-seize or thread sealant on the male threads. If you try to tighten stainless on stainless dry, the threads can gall and seize up permanently. Go slow, use lubricant, and you won't have a problem.
