Installation & Usage Guidelines

Thoroughly inspect the ORFS male flat face and O-ring groove, the JIC male flare, and all mating surfaces (female ORFS flat face and female JIC cone seat) to ensure they are clean, undamaged, and free from any contaminants.
Verify that the O-ring for the ORFS end is the correct size and material for the application. Ensure the O-ring is correctly lubricated with a system-compatible fluid.
Carefully install the lubricated O-ring into the groove on the ORFS male face of the adapter.
Align the male ORFS end of the adapter with the mating female ORFS swivel fitting. Hand-tighten the ORFS swivel nut until the flat faces make contact and the O-ring is engaged.
Align the male JIC end of the adapter with the mating female JIC swivel fitting. Hand-tighten the JIC swivel nut until the flare surfaces make contact.
Use appropriate wrenches to tighten both connections. While holding the adapter body stationary with a backup wrench, tighten the female ORFS swivel nut to the manufacturer's recommended torque. Similarly, tighten the female JIC swivel nut to its recommended torque. No thread sealant is used on JIC flare connections. Lubricating the threads of the JIC swivel nut (not the flare itself) is acceptable.
