Installation & Usage Guidelines
- Thoroughly inspect the ORFS male flat face and O-ring groove, the ORB male threads and O-ring groove, and all mating surfaces (female ORFS flat face and female ORB port) to ensure they are clean, undamaged, and free from any contaminants.
- Verify that the O-rings for both the ORFS end and the ORB end are the correct size and material (e.g., Buna-N, Viton®) for the application's fluid, temperature, and pressure. Ensure the O-rings are correctly lubricated with a system-compatible fluid.
- Carefully install the lubricated O-rings into the grooves on both male ends of the adapter.
- Thread the male ORB end of the adapter into the mating female ORB port by hand until the O-ring makes contact and the shoulder seats. Tighten with a wrench to the recommended torque for the ORB size.
- Align the male ORFS end of the adapter with the mating female ORFS swivel fitting or prepared tube end. Hand-tighten the ORFS swivel nut until the flat faces make contact and the O-ring is engaged.
- Use appropriate wrenches to tighten the ORFS connection. While holding the adapter body stationary with a backup wrench, tighten the female ORFS swivel nut to the manufacturer's recommended torque value or by using the "Flats From Wrench Resistance" (FFWR) method if specified.
- For stainless steel versions (if available), always use an appropriate anti-seize lubricant on the threads to prevent galling.
