Part #: CAT-H
CAT® Style Split Flange Half
Built for Yellow Iron.
This isn't your standard SAE flange clamp. Our Part CAT-H is a single half of a split flange clamp, built specifically to match the heavy-duty flange patterns you find on Caterpillar® equipment. You know the deal: CAT builds their stuff a little different, often a little beefier than the SAE standard. This clamp is made to match that design. It's forged from solid carbon steel and zinc-plated, because anything bolted to a piece of yellow iron has to be tough enough to survive the job site.
Heads Up: This is a "CAT® Style" part built to match the original's fit and function. It is not an OEM Caterpillar® part. Always double-check your machine's specific flange size and pressure requirements before you order.
Key Features & Specifications
Material | High-Grade Forged Carbon Steel |
---|---|
Compatibility | Designed to be dimensionally compatible with common Caterpillar® high-pressure flange patterns, which are similar to but often thicker than standard SAE Code 62. |
Design | One half of a two-piece clamping set. **Two halves are required for one complete flange connection.** |
Corrosion Protection | Standard Zinc Plating |
Job | To clamp a CAT® style flange head to the port on a pump, motor, or cylinder. Two of these are required per connection. |
Pressure Rating | Built for the extreme-duty 6000 PSI systems common on heavy equipment. |
Bolts Needed | Requires four high-strength bolts (sold separately). Don't reuse old bolts on a high-pressure flange connection. |
Common CAT-H Sizes
We stock the CAT-H in the most common sizes you'll find on CAT® equipment.
- CAT-H-08: For 1/2" (-08) CAT Style Flange
- CAT-H-10: For 5/8" (-10) CAT Style Flange
- CAT-H-12: For 3/4" (-12) CAT Style Flange
- CAT-H-16: For 1" (-16) CAT Style Flange
- CAT-H-20: For 1-1/4" (-20) CAT Style Flange
Remember: This part number gets you one flange half. You need two halves and four bolts to make one complete connection. If you need a full kit or a size you don't see here, give us a call.
Where You'll Use It & How to Install It Right
This is the flange clamp you'll need when you're working on the hydraulics of most CAT® dozers, excavators, haul trucks, and loaders. It's for high-pressure lines on pumps, motors, and cylinders where a threaded fitting just won't hold.
The Right Way to Do the Job:
- First, make sure everything is spotless: the port face, the flange head, and the O-ring. A single grain of sand can cause a 6000 PSI leak.
- Seat the two CAT-H halves behind the flange head. Make sure they sit flat.
- Start all four bolts by hand. Don't use an impact wrench to start threads.
- Tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern, like you're putting on a tire. Sneak up on the final torque value in a few steps. This pulls the flange down even and prevents cracking.
- Always use a torque wrench and tighten to the spec in the CAT® service manual. Don't guess.
